Volunteer

Volunteers are an essential part of a successful campaign. There are many ways that you can help. Whether you have a little time to spare once in a while or you're able to commit to an ongoing responsibility, your time and talent can make a difference that matters!

If you have something in mind or you'd like to explore the possibilities, please send an e-mail to volunteer@kaihagen.com.

SOME VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

Here are just a few of the ways that you could help (we'll be adding more to the list):

Put a bumper sticker on your car. Putting a sticker on your bumper may not seem like a big help, but hundreds (or a few thousand!) bumper stickers driving around the county for months will convey an important message. Beyond getting Kai's name out there, it makes it clear that a lot of people are enthusiastically supporting his campaign.

Post a yard sign. You've probably seen many of our nice looking yard signs. We have them in various forms, including posters (for windows and interior spaces), standard yard sign sizes with "legs" (for yards and other outdoor locations), and larger 2'x4' signs for certain high speed and/or high profile spots (these can be placed in the ground, hung on a railing or fence, stuck on a wall, and so on). These signs are an important way to get Kai's name out there, and they do make a difference. They may not offer a lot of additional information, but each and every one of them that is placed in a yard or on a fence or house, etc., comes with another message – a personal endorsement from a neighbor...or a lot of neighbors! No matter where you live, this can help, whether it's a small sign in an apartment window or a big sign next to a major road.

Talk to your friends about Kai and the campaign. Direct them to the website. Pass along a few written materials. There is nothing the campaign can do that could make as big a difference as hundreds of supporters actively engaging others about Kai, the issues and the importance of the election.

Distribute Literature. We've got very attractive and informative brochures, and plenty of them. You can help by distributing literature in your community (or elsewhere).

Attend Local Events. You can help build momentum for the campaign by making an effort to attend a few campaign events over the next few months.

Host a house party: A "house party" is an ideal way to help the campaign accomplish a number of goals. By hosting a gathering, you help connect Kai with friends and neighbors who share our concerns. A house party can be taylored to fit your preferences and circumstances. You could host a small gathering or a large group. You could provide dinner, or it could be pot luck or catered. And so on. We'd like to let folks know about the campaign, learn about some of their concerns and ideas, and participate in discussions about local and regional issues, all in a welcoming setting and convenient location.

WHY I'M VOTING FOR KAI!

Russell Braen
New Market

I want Kai Hagen on the Frederick Board of County Commissioners for two simple reasons. First, I see the commissioner's role is a very important factor in what life will be like for me here in ten years. Secondly, as the current housing boom peaks and fades we will need to take our foot off the gas pedal of development and consolidate the incredible gains racked up over the last ten years. Going forward into the next decade we need prudent...
