Frederick, MDAs a life-long resident of Frederick County, I enthusiastically endorse Kai Hagen for the job of county commissioner. His knowledge and love of Frederick County has been evident in his columns, as well as in his participation on the Citizens Zoning Review Committee, the county's Parks and Recreation Commission, and most notably his work with the Frederick Regional Action Committee (FRAN), which has had an impressive since its founding in 2004. It is no wonder why. Kai's efforts have done a lot educate the public, and to help residents get involved in issues that matter to all of us. That type of relationship with the public that makes him uniquely qualified to represent us here in Frederick County. Kai Hagen is an active listener who's been dedicated to preserving and improving the quality of life here. He understands that growth is not an isolated issue, that it's connected to the quality of education, the ability to get around without gridlock, the quality of our public facilities and services. We have to start dealing with all the impacts of poorly planned growth in a more cohesive and connected way, and everything else. The future of our beautiful county depends making that choice now. Kai Hagen is an earnest and knowledgeable citizen who will truly represent us--not the developers or special interests--but US, the people who know and love Frederick County. Please do yourself, your family and your county a big service of voting for him this fall.
