I am voting for Kai Hagen for Frederick County Commissioner, and I urge you to do the same.
I met Kai, with his laptop, sitting at a table in the 7th Street
Starbucks about a year ago. This serves as one of his offices when he's
in the city to attend a public meeting or hearing. He has been a
near-constant presence at these public meetings and hearings, fighting
the good fight to promote more responsible and sustainable development,
protect our natural resources and preserve our quality of life.
Kai is unassuming, yet persistent and persuasive. His thoughtful
consideration of the important issues facing Frederick County, his
commitment to what is best for all of us, and his dedication to doing
what is right are exactly what we need in Winchester Hall.
Just two weeks ago, Kai sent me a piece to read by John Tallmadge,
“Meeting the Tree of Life.” In this over-6000-word essay, there were 25
words that especially made me think of Kai, “People abused the land
because they had not come to love it. They could not love it until they
had learned to see the unseen.”
Kai loves Frederick County.

I love Frederick! I have high hopes for Frederick County's future with the expectation that Kai Hagen will become one of its commissioners. I respect Kai's experience and trust Kai's ability to thoroughly weigh the appropriateness of how decisions might affect all of us.
