My original aquaintance with Kai Hagen came several years ago. We were neighbors and both serving as advisors to the Catoctin Land Trust. Together we shared a concern about protecting our regions natural heritage and limiting the excess growth that was transforming Frederick County too quickly and short sightedly into more of the suburban sprawl that has cost Maryland so much of its rural landscape.
