Don’t sell Hagen’s chances short

In the enlightening Feb. 3 commentary on Kai Hagen, Joe Volz ended his column with the closing line “Can Kai win? Yes, but he’s an underdog.”
So was Jeff Holtzinger, and look where he is today. Right where all of us who supported his common-sense platform put him: in the mayor’s office. We can do the same for Mr. Hagen and secure him a county commissioner’s seat.
We are the silent majority who work to return reason and prudence to office with our vote, and not just our voice.
We welcome Mr. Hagen to the race and his quest to represent the average citizen and our interests.
